Stent Coating Machine

seleon developed a stent coating machine which it now manufactures and services on the customer’s behalf. This machine is used by cardiologists to coat individual coronary stents with drugs. The stent coating machine developed by seleon was a world first on the medical technology market.

TNI®20

Many people sleep badly because they suffer from breathing disorders such as snoring and sleep apnoea. The positive pressure breathing apparatuses available to date have often met with low user acceptance.

seleon responded to this challenge by developing a remarkable new concept in night-time breathing equipment for home use: the TNI®20. The TNI®20 is the first “open” system without a sealed mask or nose clips. This is a significant improvement from the patient’s point of view.

Design Study for Nose Mask

New products have to be designed initially as concepts, especially if ergonomics and ease of use are key concerns. 

For this purpose seleon offers virtual design studies, in which individual functions, handling and the intended product design are detailed. This allows many factors to be clarified before the start of production. The design of a new nose mask for the CPAP home breathing apparatus is a good example.

EMG Pattern Recognition System

On behalf of this customer, seleon confidentially developed an automatic pattern recognition system for EMG (electromyography) data. The custom-built software was seamlessly integrated into an existing product. By supplying analytical evaluations of the data in a matter of seconds, the software supports EMG interpretation and reliable detection of motor units even with high event density.

Neurovascular Diagnosis System

seleon invests in cutting-edge research and technology transfer and works with its partners to research and develop innovative products and introduce them to industrial practice. Glance, a software package for the diagnosis and treatment monitoring of strokes, is the result of a three-year scientific partnership between:

• the stroke unit at the Neurology University Hospital in Freiburg
• the Freiburg Centre for Data Analysis and Modelling at the University of Freiburg
• and seleon

within the framework of a project initiated by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

PET Image Reconstruction

On behalf of this customer, seleon confidentially developed image reconstruction software for a high-resolution PET scanner used in mammography. The software allows the PET images to be reconstructed and image sections viewed already during the imaging process.

Air Humidifier

Artificial respiration and breathing support often have side-effects, such as the drying out of the mucous membranes. Many of these side-effects can be prevented by humidifying the breathed air. For this customer seleon designed a warm air humidifier as an accessory to the CPAP breathing apparatus.

PMM-EKG

seleon was tasked with developing a module for the world’s fastest CT scanner, the Somatom® Definition from Siemens Medical Solutions CT. The module, which synchronises ECG recording with CT data recording, was fully developed by seleon to series production status.

Gas Mixer

Paediatric ventilation must be adapted to a wide range of patients from infants to young adults. In addition to the difference in size from adults, the structure and function of the respiratory tract differs in babies and small children. This places special demands on ventilation equipment.

This customer tasked seleon with the development, production and servicing of a digital gas mixer for ventilation equipment in paediatric wards and anaesthetic equipment.

Oximeter

In many cases, local oxygen saturation in a patient’s blood is still measured in the laboratory.

seleon developed an oximeter for a cardiac catheter measuring station that allows the local oxygen saturation of the blood in the ventricles to be measured during examination with a cardiac catheter.
