The company was founded in 1998 as a spin-off of the University of Freiburg and originally specialized in software development. From the beginning, seleon has experienced rapid and continuous growth.
In 2000 its Dessau branch was opened, which was initially established for hardware development and was later expanded to include manufacturing in order to complement the company's business activities.
In 2002 the company changed its name to "seleon". Since this time, seleon has seen a steady increase and expansion in manufacturing capacity. The new manufacturing hall was ready for occupancy in 2006.
In July 2007, TNI medical AG was founded as a spin-off by the founder of seleon, Michael Lauk. He became the CEO of the new company. That way seleon's ideas become market-ready products and the sales are optimized.
In October 2007, under the management of Harald Genger, the headquarters of seleon were relocated to Heilbronn due to the excellent infrastructure and optimal surroundings of this location.
In 2009, a branch in Munich was opened.
seleon currently has about 60 employees and is ISO 9001:2008 certified. Additionally, it is ISO 13485:2007 certified according to medical product laws.
